THE MS for North Wales, Sam Rowlands, has urged people to apply for the chance to take up business opportunities at a new Colwyn Bay tourist attraction.

Mr Rowlands, shadow minister for local government, is backing a call from Conwy County Borough Council, who is seeking applications for seasonal concessions on Colwyn Bay Pier.

The newly completed replacement pier opened in July 2021, featuring ironwork and ornate support columns from the original Pier using the 1934 colour scheme.

He said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for businesses to help put the new pier firmly on the tourist map and hopefully attract even more visitors to this popular area.

“The council wants to attract local or independent businesses which can offer food, drinks, retail, arts and crafts, activities or pop-up events.

“It is a great chance to be involved right from the start and help to ensure the future success of the pier.

“I would urge anyone interested in this opportunity to make sure they express an interest as soon as possible.”

Anyone interested has until January 31 to submit their applications.
