An East Lancashire farm will launch a ‘meet and greet’ experience for alpaca-lovers next month.

Adventurous Alpacas, on Doals Farm in Bacup, is giving members of the public the chance to get up close and personal with the 10 alpacas on the farm.

In the one hour experience, visitors will be able to feed the alpacas some food and carrots, and walk with them around the farm.

Staff at Adventurous Alpacas will also introduce each of the boys to you and tell you all about their unique personalities and quirks.

Owner of the business, Paul Wise, says it is the first time they have launched the experience since taking over in November 2021.

After being made redundant from his IT job four years ago, Paul said it had always been a quiet dream of his to own land and was encouraged by his children to work at the alpaca farm.

Paul said he is “excited” to be getting under way and encourages the public to try the experience if they are feeling stressed.

He said: “The alpacas are lovely creatures and very docile.

“Meeting them and feeding them is an incredible way of relieving stress.

“Just being among them is very relaxing. In this world stressful we live in the opportunity to relax is is something that will, hopefully, be in high demand.”

The team only started advertising the event this week but say they have already received a lot of interest in the ‘meet and greet’ experience.
