POLICE have appealed for help identifying a man in connection with an incident involving racist comments made towards a couple and their young child on a train.

British Transport Police (BTP) say the incident in question took place on November 13, 2021 on a train travelling between Llandudno and Betws-y-Coed.

Police have released two still images taken from CCTV footages in the hope that a member of the public will then be able to identify the man in question.

A BTP statement said: “Do you recognise this man?

“Officers investigating a racially aggravated public order offence on board a train travelling between Llandudno and Betws-y-Coed are releasing images in connection.

“At around 4.30pm on November 13, 2021, a couple and their four-year-old child were travelling on the service when a man sat near them loudly made racially abusive comments in their direction.

“The family then got up and moved down the train away from the man.

“Officers believe the man in the CCTV images may have information which could help their investigation.

“If you recognise him, or have any information, please contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 405 040, quoting reference 442 of November 13, 2021.

“Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
