NO Welsh beaches have been included in a top ten list of the UK’s most ‘Instagrammable’ beaches.
Despite having 45 Blue Flag beaches and marinas, an iconic eco-label run by Keep Wales Tidy and bestowed upon by the Foundation for Environmental Education, the Welsh coastline failed to be recognised.
The study was conducted by LuxuryHotel.com, who analysed Instagram hashtag data and the length of the UK’s most popular beaches to find the ten beaches with the highest ‘hashtags per metre’.
Topping the list was Kynance Cove in Cornwall, followed by Brighton Beach in Sussex and Cornwall’s Fistral Beach.
Notable North Wales absences include the stunning Barmouth/Abermaw Beach in Gwynedd, Aberdaron Beach on the Llŷn Peninsula, Prestatyn Beach in Denbighshire and Llanfairfechan Beach in Conwy.
Commenting on the findings, a spokesperson from LuxuryHotel said: “With the summer of 2022 hoping to be a return to normality as well as good weather, deciding on a beach spot will be one of the hottest topics over the next few months.
“Those who want to snap some beach photography or capture some memories will be delighted that the UK has a huge selection of great destinations on offer all around the country.”
