PRESTATYN Flower Show organisers have announced the end of the event, after being held for a quarter of a century.

The Show first blossomed when shopkeepers of Prestatyn High Street, in partnership with Denbighshire County Council, exploited Prestatyn’s unique large garden in the centre of the town.

Soon thereafter, the Show went from strength to strength, with marquees originally borrowed from the 3rd Prestatyn Scouts.

In a statement announcing its end, the organisers said: “We will be forever grateful to Allyson & David Evans who allowed us to take over their beautiful gardens for the show, the local businesses who entered & supported us, Prestatyn Town Council, but most of all to you the local people who entered exhibits over the years without you there never would have been a Prestatyn Flower Show”.
