A NORTH WALES-based guest house owner has joined a Colwyn Bay radio station as a volunteer presenter.

Tracey Toulmin, 51, owner of the Bryn Woodlands House in Colwyn Bay, is dedicating her Saturday morning show on Bayside Radio to happiness, to coincide with International Happiness Day (March 20) and Comic Relief (March 18).

Tracey became a presenter in January 2022, after the community found her Facebook Live videos helpful, kind and good for their wellbeing throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

These videos were known as “Jiggy Friday”, where she asks her audience to shout out a track that will get them “jiggy” for the weekend.

Tracey: “It is said music is the food of love; I say let’s get jiggy.

“The pandemic and subsequent world issues have been heart-breaking for many, so music can bring happiness and so much wealth for our wellbeing.

“I felt I was ready to take my chats to the next level, as I had helped so many not to feel alone.”

When not in the studio, you can find Tracey walking her dog Flash on Colwyn Bay beach, who has become a star himself for greeting guests at Bryn Woodlands House.

Simon Wynne, operations and content director at Bayside Radio, added: “Bayside began broadcasting on digital radio at the start of the pandemic and continues today.

“The station is now collaborating with Sound Radio in Kinmel Bay to launch Sound Bay Digital, a digital radio platform on DAB which will allow community groups and hobby broadcasters to get their own channel to broadcast a radio service across Conwy County.”

Tracey’s show is on Bayside Radio every Saturday morning, from 10am until 12pm. You can listen at baysideradio.co.uk, or DAB digital radio station 87.7.

You can find Tracey’s “Jiggy Friday” videos at Bryn Woodlands House’s Facebook page: www.facebook.com/watch/BrynWoodlandsHouse.
