A CHOCOLATE shop in Llandudno Junction have created a selection of Ukraine-themed treats in order to fundraise for those suffering in the current conflict.
Choccablock have created a range of treats in the Ukrainian colours, with a unique twist flavour-wise in that traditional Ukrainian flavours were used.
Bites include the Syrnuk Cherry Cheesecake and the Sharlotka Apple Caramel Hearts.
In a social media post, Choccablock said: “Like everyone we have watched the atrocities happening in Ukraine, feeling completely helpless and heartbroken.
“We are trying to help in a very small way by selling our Handcrafted Chocolates for £10 to raise vital funds for Ukraine through the Disaster Emergency Committee.”
Each Chocolate has been hand painted in the yellow and blue of the Ukrainian flag and filled with traditional Ukrainian dessert recipes.
The Yellow Chocolate Bon Bon is made of white chocolate and is inspired by Syrnyky, a Ukranian Cheesecake which is made with farmers’ cheese and cherries.
The Blue Milk Chocolate Heart is filled with apple caramel in homage to an Ukrainian Apple Cake (Yabluchnyk).
On using Ukrainian fillings and flavours, Choccablock said: “We just wanted to pay respect to the Ukranian people and for the chocolates to represent Ukraine and the people of Ukraine.”
All proceeds will go towards the Disaster Emergency Committee fund.
