A JOB Fair will be held at Venue Cymru tomorrow, giving people in the region a chance to speak to prospective employers.

The event is the fourth of its kind, having been held in Mochdre before the Coronavirus pandemic.

With up to 22 different employers in attendance, the event will give Llandudno residents an opportunity to get to know the people that will potentially hire them, as well as an insight into the respective fields they are interested in.

Between November 2021 and January 2022, the nation’s unemployment figure (for those aged 16 and over) stood at 3.9%, while Wales’ are even lower than the national figure, at a remarkable 3.1%.

Events like the Job Fair play a big role in achieving these figures.

The Job Fair is a creation of Creating Enterprise (CIC), a subsidiary of Cartrefi Conwy, an affordable property development firm based in North Wales.

Richard Chance, Training and Development Co-ordinator at Creating Enterprise, said: “This event might open the door to more people.

“We felt that Venue Cymru was a good restarting point.

“It’s so difficult to recruit right now, and events like this can help bridge the gap for recruiters.

“Profits from the event go back to the community, and the event encourages people to visit employers.”

With greater proactivity may come great reward, with employers involved tasked to donate prizes for a lottery-style competition.

The top prize will allow the winner to choose a room in their house to be painted free of charge.

Entry to the event is free, and the Fair runs from 10am to 2pm.
