A PADDLEBOARDING business based on Colwyn Bay promenade has celebrated a recent expansion to coincide with a year since it was set up.

“Môr”, which also sells a variety of essentials for a day at the sea, as well as bodyboards, surfboards and skateboards, has now moved to one of the old conference rooms at Porth Eirias.

It is now also running SUP (stand-up paddleboard) lessons and demo days, where you can try before you buy, and enjoy the first “demo days” on May 6 and 7, coinciding with Colwyn Bay’s Prom Xtra event.

All of its lessons are run by qualified Water Skills Academy instructors.

John Burke, founder of the business, said: “It’s been an exciting process expanding, and we have also taken on some fantastic new team members.

“Working alongside our friends at Sports Conwy, Evolution Bike and Bryn Williams, we look forward to this place becoming a hub for all sports enthusiasts and beach users.

“We are also looking forward to welcoming whoever takes on the tender to offer sailing and other activities in the near future.

“We pride ourselves on our friendly and open approach - our staff are experienced in a variety of different watersports and can offer advice if you should need it.

“Porth Eirias is also a litter picking hub, and we encourage anyone who would like to borrow some of the kit to pop in and say hello or ask one of the council staff in the building.

“We like to stay in touch with local charities where we can, as they quite often offer invaluable advice to watersports users which we look to pass on, be it safety advice from the RNLI, environmental advice from the Marine Conservation Society, North Wales Wildlife Trust and the Seal Alliance.”

The shop, also sell essentials/spares including carbon and fibreglass paddles, fins, electric pumps, and leashes.
