A WOMAN from Deganwy is to pay more than £250 and carry out unpaid work after she was found guilty of obstructing a police officer and common assault.

Janet Jones, 45, of Heulfryn, was accused of committing common assault against Shannon Jones in Llandudno on February 18.

She was also accused of obstructing a police constable in Llandudno on the same day.

Jones was found guilty of both offences at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on April 20.

She is to pay £100 in compensation, as well as £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service to be paid as a lump sum within 28 days, and a £95 victim surcharge, totalling £280.

An application was also made by the court for deductions from her benefits.

Jones is also to undergo alcohol treatment for three months, and complete 40 hours of unpaid work by April 19, 2023.

On April 20, she was also found guilty of disorderly behaviour in Llandudno on February 18, but no separate penalty was issued for this offence.

A fourth offence, of common assault against Liam O’Reilly in Llandudno on February 18, was withdrawn.
