A pensioner found dead on Llandudno's Great Orme died of gunshot wounds, an inquest heard.
At a brief opening hearing in Ruthin John Gittins, senior coroner for North Wales East and Central, said that a passer-by alerted police after finding 81-year-old Gary Hardwick near his car which was parked near the tramway station on April 12.
When police visited his home in The Cloisters, Rhos-on-Sea, they found a note indicating that he intended to take his own life.
Pathologist Dr Mark Atkinson, who carried out a post-mortem examination, gave a provisional cause of death as shotgun injuries to the chest.
The inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
