A TWO-YEAR-OLD cat that went missing in Glan Conwy has been found almost 290 miles away in Tilbury, Essex.

Ashley, a Siamese cat, disappeared from her owners Daniel and Val Worsley on Good Friday (April 15), escaping through a bathroom window.

Mr Worsley said: “Our cleaner left the bathroom window open and our two-year-old Siamese cat Ashley, who had never left the house before, jumped down 15 feet and disappeared.”

“We were totally devastated and starting to think ‘that's it, we'll never see her again’.”

Suddenly, a call came through from Karen Keeves, a volunteer with cat rehoming charity Pippa’s Army.

Ms Keeves revealed Ashley had been found by homeowner Carol Monk in a garage in nearby North Stifford having first been alerted by the family’s pet dog Bobby – he began scratching and crying by the garage as if to indicate something was inside.

Identified by her microchip, the North Wales couple were overwhelmed when informed of her safety – and where she had been found.

Soon, 76-year-old Mr Worsley made the 580-mile round trip to collect his treasured cat, who now finds herself back in familiar hands after her short holiday.

In a series of events that Daniel Worsley refers to as “just amazing”, he added: “Thank God for Pippa's Army Animal Rescue and its fabulous members.

“We were beginning to lose hope - thank goodness for volunteer organisations such as yours.”

Mr Worsley has said he will make a donation to Pippa’s Army for all their help.
