A RESIDENT from Gwynedd has been handed a fine but has escaped a ban from the roads after being found guilty of drug-driving.

Elin Williams, 27, of Menai Street, Felinheli was accused of driving on the A55 in Penmaenmawr, Conwy with more than 400 ug/L of Benzoylecgonine (the main metabolite of cocaine) in Williams’ bloodstream.

This was on November 27, 2021.

Williams’ plea changed to guilty at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on April 22.

Williams was fined £450, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £45, and costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85, to be paid in weekly, £50 instalments commencing May 22.

This amounted to a total of £580.

No disqualification from holding or obtaining a driving licence was issued due to Williams’ drinks being laced with drugs.
