A PRIMARY SCHOOL in Rhos-on-Sea was broken into and vandalised earlier this week as police have announced the arrest of five youths in connection with the crime.

Ysgol Llandrillo Yn Rhos, a mixed primary school, was broken into earlier this week, leading to the destruction of indoor facilities of common rooms and kitchen areas.

Furniture, equipment and food were also thrown around indoor areas, while an outdoor shed area had some of its windows destroyed.

“Thank you to all those who’ve offered to help and clean things up,” said the school’s Chair of Governors James Lusted.

“Thank you to staff who’ve been flexible in their day today to clear things and those who’ve been trawling through CCTV – we really appreciate it!

“We’d like to ask that if you live close to the school please can you keep an eye on the school and if you see anything suspicious please report it to 101 immediately.”

North Wales Police (NWP) today announced that they had made arrests in connection with the damage caused at the school, which follows recent attacks on a primary school in nearby Llandudno.

“Our investigation is currently ongoing.”

There was anger from residents across Rhos-on-Sea at the attacks, with one resident calling for the police to “send them to jail”, while another said “We've had enough of this group in Rhos causing havoc”.
