EVENTS across North Wales are taking place as people come together to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this Bank Holiday weekend.

From Thursday (June 2), events in Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire and Gwynedd will commemorate the Queen’s 70 years on the throne.

Queen Elizabeth II is the first British monarch to reach the milestone.

We have created a round-up of all the events you need to know about heading into the four-day celebration, and what you won’t want to miss out on this week.

 

CONWY

June 2 – Beacon lighting at The Bandstand, the Promenade, Llandudno

June 3 – Jubilee Crafts event at Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwyn Bay

June 3 – Sound of the Sea Festival in Penmaenmawr

June 5 – Party on the Prom in Llandudno

Eight road closure applications for Jubilee street parties were submitted to Conwy County Borough Council in the Abergele, Colwyn Bay, Deganwy, Llanddulas, Old Colwyn, and Penrhyn Bay areas.

DENBIGHSHIRE

June 2 – Beacon lighting at Rhyl Events Arena

June 2 – Beacon lighting at St Asaph Cathedral

June 2-5 – Four-day Jubilee party at the Marine Lake, Rhyl, with a variety of stalls and entertainment will be on offer as people come together to celebrate

June 4 – Royal Rhyl will be held on the town’s high street and includes a first-time visit from an historical regal guest, royal-themed crafts and activities, and traditional seaside activities

June 4-5 – Jubilee Arts Festival in Abergele, at The Peculiar Gallery, Abergele Youth and Community Centre and St Paul’s Methodist Church

Ten requests for Jubilee events were submitted to Denbighshire County Council, with requests to hold events at Marine Lake (Rhyl), Rhyl High Street, Botanical Gardens (Rhyl), Canterbury Drive (Prestatyn), The Circle (Prestatyn), Bryn Coed (St Asaph), Record Street (Ruthin), Parade Street and Pengwern Estate (both Llangollen).

The Council have also received applications for road closures in relation to staging Jubilee events at The Circle and Pendre Avenue (both Prestatyn), Record Street, Bryn Coed, and Market Street.

GWYNEDD

June 2-5 – Tremadog Bay Jubilee Regatta in Pwllheli

June 2 – Beacon lighting and cannon firing at The Royal Welsh Yacht Club in Caernarfon

Eight road closure applications for Jubilee street parties were submitted to Gwynedd County Council in:

- Bryncrug – Maeshyfryd (4/6/22)

- Barmouth – Y Promenad (3-4/6/22)

- Tremadog – Isgraig (5/6/22)

- Maestryfan – Bangor (3/6/22)

- Caernarfon – Ffordd Elidir (3/6/22), Cae’r Saint (3/6/22), Maes Barcer (4/6/22)
