A NEW author from Llanelian has been making waves in the world of written mystery with his new historical thriller, “The Barbarossa Secret”.

Christopher Kerr released the book, his second novel, on May 28, and it has shot into the top 10 of Waterstones’ historical fiction charts, and the top 0.02 per cent of books on Amazon.

With no backing from the big publishers, the independently-released “The Barbarossa Secret” has resonated with audiences worldwide.

Christopher said: “I was shocked to see my book in the charts raked with some of the best literary talent.

“I have come to this with no celebrity connections, big publishing interests, or other methods used to promote ‘chosen’ authors.

“I consider myself very much the maverick outsider and to see ‘The Barbarossa Secret’ perform so well has been an incredible journey.”

Stretching from World War II to the present day, the book’s plot sheds light on historical conspiracies that question the foundations that 20th and 21st century western civilisation are built upon.

“The Barbarossa Secret” follows a journalist’s search to uncover the truth of the war’s hidden episodes – a precarious secret pact between the Axis and the Allies.

Based on exhaustive historical research, “The Barbarossa Secret” is not only an epic human drama, but raises many real questions about areas which have never been properly and truthfully explained.

Llanelian author set to release second published novel

With a background in entrepreneurship and marketing, Christopher recently committed to his long-term passion of writing.

Spurred on by his late wife, the author persevered beyond rejection by the big publishers to pen and release “The Barbarossa Secret”, which has gone on to beat some of the industry’s biggest names.

He added: “I hope that budding authors that struggle to see a path to success are able to take inspiration from my story.

“It delights me to see my book connect with audiences worldwide and I hope that it serves as testament that this path is possible for other independent writers.”

Christopher, who released his debut novel, “The Covenant”, in 2021, has also almost finished his third book, “Fission”.

“The Barbarossa Secret” is available now from most major book stores, and is released via The Book Guild.
