North Wales Police have arrested three men after they allegedly stole fuel from a vehicle on a farm in the region. 

The alleged theft took place in the earlier hours of the morning on Friday, June 24 at a farm in the Loggerheads area. 

Police say three men allegedly started syphoning fuel from a tank before fleeing the scene after being disturbed by the owners.

A search in relation to the vehicle registration led to three males being stopped and arrested in the Manchester area.

A NWP spokesperson said: "In the early hours of this morning (24/6/22) thieves entered on to the yard of a farm in the Loggerheads area and began to syphon fuel from the tank.

"However the alert owners disturbed the thieves and with their quick and decisive action, the vehicle registration was recorded and a direction of travel discovered. This led to a search for the vehicle involving North Wales Police and neighbouring forces. 

"Quick positive action lead to the vehicle being stopped in the Manchester area and the three males aboard being arrested. They currently remain in police custody.

"The victims, in this case, were extremely alert as they were aware of suspicious incidents in their immediate area predating this incident. This is often the case, cold callers, unknown vehicles behaving strangely in the area, use of drones over farm yards etc.

"It pays to be vigilant."
