TRAVELLERS have now left playing fields in Wrexham where they had spent the last week.
The encampment had been set up on Waens fields in Bradley last Monday.
After the travellers ignored an eviction notice issued by Wrexham Magistrates Court on Friday, bailiffs were called in on Monday to assist with their removal.
Tina Mannering, county councillor for Gwersyllt East and South Ward, said: "A huge thank you to everyone who worked with me to get this fabulous outcome.
"The mess on the field was easily cleaned up. It was the mess in the trees, hedges and woodland paths that had been used as toilets, with evidence being the toilet paper and wipes, that is the worst offence."
She added: "A big thank you to Mark Owens, the housing officer at Wrexham County Borough Council (WCBC), for his help dealing with the illegall encampment and all other officers at WCBC, including the legal team enforcement.
"I am so very grateful that you all guided and supported me through to a successful end."
