A FUNDRAISING event is being held in memory of two young Flintshire women who died in a horror road traffic crash.

On November 25, best friends Ellie Crossley and Rebecca Doughty were travelling home in a silver Citroen on the A5117, near to Parkgate Road in Mollington, near Chester, when their car was involved in a collision with a blue BMW.

Emergency services were called at 9.28pm, but sadly the two women, both aged 20, were tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

On Sunday, July 24, a 'Forever 20' event will be held in memory of Ellie, from Holywell, and Rebecca, from Connah's Quay.

It will see participants walk or jog a 5km route around Wepre Park to raise a money for the 2wish charity - which has been supporting their respective families through the bereavement process.

Siobhan Rush, Ellie's aunty, is organising the event.

She said: "Both families have been torn apart. Besides the families of both girls supporting each other and becoming a rock for each other throughout their devastating losses, the only other real comfort has come from the support of the 2wish foundation.

"2wish offers support for those affected by sudden death to young people. All proceeds of the event are to go to the 2wish foundation in memory of Ellie and Rebecca."

2wish Foundation supports anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under.
