A MAN who was found guilty of driving while almost double the legal alcohol limit has been banned from the roads and ordered to pay in excess of £400.
James Halpin, 32, of Beames Close, Liverpool, was accused of driving on the A55 in a Ford Fiesta vehicle on June 4 with 67 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
The legal limit is 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
He pleaded guilty at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on June 22.

Mr Halpin was disqualified from driving for 18 months, though this will be reduced by 18 weeks should he complete an obligatory course by June 17, 2023.
He was also fined £300, and ordered to pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85 and a victim surcharge of £34.
This amounted to a total of £419, which he is to pay in monthly instalments of £25 from July 20.
