A DEGU is in his own lockdown after being overlooked since he came into RSPCA care in September 2020.

George, the three-year-old degu, might be stuck in his own lockdown - but he is still as friendly and cheeky as can be!

He came to RSPCA Bryn-Y-Maen Animal Centre in Colwyn Bay along with a number of degus, but while the others have found new homes sadly he is still awaiting his.

Animal centre manager Vicky Williams said: “We are on a mission to find George his forever home with his own true love.

“George has been neutered, so that he could live with a female degu or two. So he is in need of a loving home - complete with companionship of the degu kind, as degus are social within their own species.

“He is very friendly and he is such a cheeky little character, which all the staff and volunteers have fallen in love with.

“If you think George can be your perfect match, please get in touch! We would just love to see him go to his forever home, as soon he will have been with us for two years - and a lot has happened since then.”

The Upper Colwyn Bay centre is also appealing for homes for guinea pigs, Walnut and Almond.

Vicky added: “They have really surprised us because they have been in our care since January this year but they have not had much interest.

“They are currently in a foster home, to give them some more company and as both have long coats, they need regular grooming. They are almost three-years-old and are both friendly and inquisitive boys.”

Walnut and Almond have only ever lived indoors and would love a room to themselves.
