THE heatwave which North Wales experienced at the start of this week saw Colwyn Bay register a record-high temperature.
On Tuesday (July 19), a temperature of 36.6°C was recorded at its station, located alongside the Colwyn Leisure Centre, with the sunshine recorder found on the lower roof of The Barn.
The previous high was 36.0°C.

Colwyn Bay is not the only area in North Wales to break temperature records this week; on Monday, the temperature reached 37.1°C in Hawarden, the highest ever recorded.
The station in Colwyn Bay has been in existence since about 1911 in various locations, while Llandudno also had its own until the late 1970s.
