TWO cyclists have been taken to hospital after colliding in Conwy this morning (July 27).
Emergency services were called to an incident involving two cyclists on Llanrwst Road, Castle Square, Conwy at around 11.25am.
Llanrwst Road was blocked and shut in both directions, with queueing traffic rerouted and motorists advised to avoid the area.
Wales Air Ambulance, Welsh Ambulance Service and North Wales Police attended the crash, after which one person was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd, while a woman with “serious injuries” was flown to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further treatment.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said “We were called today (July 27) at 11:24am to reports of an incident in Castle Square, Conwy.
“We sent two emergency ambulances and one rapid response vehicle to the scene, where we were supported by the Wales Air Ambulance.
“One person was transported by road to Ysbyty Gwynedd, and another person was flown to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further treatment.”
A North Wales Police spokesperson said: “We received a call at 11.35am reporting an RTC involving two cyclists on Llanrwst Road, Conwy. Officers attended alongside colleagues from WAST and Helimed.”
The road has now reopened.
