TRIBUTES have been pouring in for an "amazing" and "loving" young father killed in a cycling accident.

Reece Thomas Thompson, 19, leaves behind 18-month-old son Grayson, as well as mum Caryl, Dad Dewi, sister Aly and two sets of grandparents.

“He was a hell of a character, he brightened up every single room and you can see from the comments that his friends have all posted,” said Reece’s father Dewi.

“He was larger-than-life, a dedicated father, he was brilliant with his little son.

“As a son, you couldn’t have asked for anything better.

“We were so proud of him with everything he was doing.”

The teenager from Bangor was a keen sportsman, having represented several football clubs, including Llandudno FC and Bethesda Athletic, while also playing rugby for the North Wales regional youth side, RGC.

Tributes have been pouring in for the 19-year-old since his death, with former team Llandudno FC posting on their Facebook page: "Today we heard the sad news of the passing of a former U23s player Reece Thompson, everyone at Llandudno Football Club are devastated with the news and send our condolences to Reece’s family and friends."

Reece's former Caernarfon Town FC youth coach Richard Cashman also paid tribute, he said: "It was a pleasure getting to know you and also having the opportunity to coach you from the age of 13/14 years old and watch you grow into a young man and father.

"You were so talented across so many sports with a huge and enthusiastic personality. Thinking of you and the family."

Hundreds of messages from around the world were sent to Reece’s family.
