THE Young People Food Scheme which will provide food at Council-run children and young people’s groups and activities has been launched.
In February 2022, the Welsh Government announced a package of measures to help people with the cost of living crisis.
This included the main scheme (£150 cost of living payment to eligible households) and the discretionary scheme to provide support for other purposes related to living costs.
The Young People Food Scheme is funded under this discretionary scheme and aims to support good nutrition and wellbeing for attendees.

The scheme will fund food for children who are taking part in range of activities over the summer including: reading sessions in Conwy libraries; outdoor activities like beach sports, mountain biking, multi-sport and play sessions; creative arts sessions and the Lego Café at Venue Cymru.
Councillor Aaron Wynne, Cabinet Member for Leisure & Culture said: “This scheme will be delivered by our fantastic Library Services, Leisure and Theatre staff.
“They have moved quickly to create and coordinate a scheme that can be used by the young people of Conwy, and have done a brilliant job of pulling this together.”
