A DJ born and bred in Conwy will open Pete Tong and the Symphony Orchestra’s show in Colwyn Bay next weekend.

Hollie Profit, educated at Ysgol Eirias, will be the support act for the concert at Stadiwm Eirias on August 13.

Hollie, a self-taught North Walian DJ, said: “I feel truly honoured to be supporting Pete Tong. I’ve never been so excited for a gig in my life.

“I’ve spent my whole life in Eirias, from learning to swim at six months old, to going to high school there, to representing North Wales in athletics.

“The place is so special to me and I can’t wait to play in front of a home crowd."

A technical DJ with a plethora of musical knowledge, Hollie prides herself on the ability to inject life into any party and read even the toughest of crowds.

Inspired by Studio 54’s famous disco ball and the exciting eccentricity of the underground house scene, Hollie has quickly bolstered her career within the UK and further afield - racking up a profound list of achievements in the process.

She has already supported some of the biggest names in the business including Patrick Topping, Horse Meat Disco, Craig Charles, The Martinez Brothers and many more, as well as having mixes on BBC, Rinse FM and Reprezent.

Outside of the DJ booth, Hollie is a firm advocate of women’s rights and equality within the music industry.

Such emphasis on important issues has seen her championed by the likes of The Blessed Madonna after reaching the final of Smirnoff’s “Equalising Music” initiative.

She is also championing changing and growing a budding music scene in North Wales.
