ON TUESDAY (August 30), Rotary Club of Llandudno was pleased to host one of its honorary members; the MS for Aberconwy, Janet Finch-Saunders.

A total of 21 members and guests dined at Maesdu Golf Club before hearing Mrs Finch-Saunders talk about her work at the Senedd, as well as touching on her earlier experiences as a Llandudno town councillor and mayor, and a councillor and leader of Conwy County Borough Council.

Mrs Finch-Saunders gave examples of the background casework which may well alert a member to a wider issue that needs to be addressed politically, and spoke of how she uses recess periods as an opportunity to visit businesses, institutions, clubs, societies and more in her constituency.

She is one of the three honorary members of Llandudno Rotary, along with Aberconwy MP, Robin Millar, and distinguished former member, Colin Lovell.

Rotarian Dan Worsley, himself a community councillor on Glan Conwy Community Council, moved the vote of thanks to Mrs Finch-Saunders, on behalf of the club.

The Rotary Club of Llandudno has 18 members (plus honorary members) and forms part of Rotary International - a global network of service volunteers.

It is the world’s largest service organisation, founded in 1905, and has 1.4 million members operating in 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and territories world-wide.
