JANET Finch-Saunders, Aberconwy MS, is calling on residents and visitors to be extra vigilant when enjoying the beach at West Shore, Llandudno.
Her public plea comes after the Llandudno Coastal Rescue Team and Conwy RNLI were called out to reports of several people cut off on the West Shore sandbanks.
Last weekend, for instance, Conwy Lifeboat received two callouts to people caught out by rising tides on West Shore.

Mrs Finch-Saunders said: “The West Shore sandbanks are extremely dangerous, with the rapidly rising tide having caught several people and left them stranded.
“We are fortunate to have selfless individuals in both the Llandudno Costal Rescue Team and RNLI who play key roles in rescuing people caught out, however all beach users must take individual responsibility also by keeping an eye out for the tide.
“If you see anyone in distress or danger in West Shore, please call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
“By all of us making an active decision to be mindful of the tide, we could reduce the risk to our lives and those who selflessly put their lives on the line when a rescue is required.”
