A GOLF club in Conwy has gone on the market for £1.49million, as the owners look to retire after 27 years of running it.

Silver Birch Golf Club in Betws yn Rhos, Abergele has been running since 1995, when owners Bryn and Menna Jones decided to make us of their redundant farmland, originally creating a nine-hole course.

This was extended in 2004, making it a 59 par 18-hole course, with a total length of 3,235 yards, making it popular with mature golfers and those looking to improve their short game (putting and regulation play around greens).

The front nine is open pasture land, and the back nine proves more challenging with more than 6,000 trees lining the fairways.

Brun and Menna Jones have now put the business up to sale with estate agent Falcon Commercial, as they wish to retire.

Furthermore, the club has an eco-friendly club house that was built in 2016, which includes a café, catering facilities and is solar powered.

The 55-acre site has an annual turnover in the region of £250,000, with consistently high profit margins, according to the listing.

The site also has an 18-hole Footgolf course which opened in 2015. Footgolf, which is played with a football and without clubs, has grown in popularity in recent years.
