AUDIENCES in Rhyl and Llandudno are set to be enthralled by a ballet company from Moldova.

The Crown Ballet Company, which has dancers from many different countries all over the world, including Ukraine, is coming to the UK for the first time.

First, the company comes to Rhyl next month with its production of the family favourite ballet, Sleeping Beauty.

Every child’s favourite fairy-tale, Sleeping Beauty is the classic story of love and innocence, mystery and magic!

Outline based on the fairy-tale by Charles Perrault, the Sleeping Beauty tells of the Princess Aurora, cursed at her christening by the evil Carabosse to prick her finger one day on a spindle and die.

Thanks to the timely intervention of the Lilac Fairy, she doesn’t die, but sleeps for a hundred years.

Woken by a prince, who has battled through the Enchanted Forest to reach her, they marry at a ceremony attended by nursery rhyme characters like Puss in Boots and all the other forest creatures.

A wonderful evening out, the memories of which you will cherish long after the final curtain falls.

Sleeping Beauty comes to the Rhyl Pavilion on October 5.

Producer Alexej Ignatow, of Crown Ballet, who has co-ordinated the UK tour, said: “We are constantly on the lookout for new challenges, to ensure that our ballet audiences get a chance to experience a wide spectrum of various classic pieces.

“With extensive national tours that get our productions seen the length and breadth of the country, we are able to offer national audiences in various theatres an unforgettable experience at a fraction of the price of the major opera houses, all without sacrificing quality. We aim to deliver top quality productions every year and make new converts wherever we go. We are therefore especially excited to present this very diverse ballet company from Moldova for the first time in the UK.

"Looking into the very near future, we also excited to announce that we just now confirmed that we will be touring Ukrainian National Opera in Spring 2023 which further proves our commitment to bring different artists to the UK from all over the world."
