Ryan Reynolds has confirmed that the Deadpool franchise has another film on the way.

Reynolds posted a video on his social media last night confirming that Deadpool 3 is set to hit cinema screens in September 2024.

The new Deadpool film will also feature a former Marvel star as Hugh Jackman is set to return as Wolverine in the movie.

The Deadpool franchise has proved a hit since the release of the first film in 2016.

Deadpool 1 and 2 made a combined $687m through the box office.

Fans will now be eagerly anticipating the release of the third but will have to be patient with the film not set to hit screens for almost two years.

During the video, Ryan said he was 'extremely sad' to have missed out on D23 - a three-day Marvel event - but insisted he had been working very hard on Deadpool 3 for a 'good long while now'.

As Ryan jokes about his lack of imagination and creativity for Deadpool three ideas, Hugh Jackman makes an appearance in the background.

He walks across the room and up the stairs while Ryan asks him, "Hey Hugh, you want to play Wolverine one more time?"

To which Wrexham fan, Jackman responds: "Yeah, sure Ryan."

The date of release is September 6, 2024.
