A Conwy fish and chips restaurant has been handed a new three-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Pebble Restaurant, at 11a Mostyn Street, Llandudno was given the score after assessment on August 25, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

The Agency’s report into the eatery rated its hygienic food handling and the cleanliness and conditions of its facilities as ‘generally satisfactory’, while its management of food safety was rated ‘good’.

The Pebble has a TripAdvisor rating of 4.0 after 611 reviews, with the most recent review from two weeks ago stating that their “husband was asked to leave his disability scooter outside! How do they get away with this? Disgraceful!”, while the one before that said it was “understaffed” and found the ladies toilet “disgusting”, but said that the food was good.

It means that of Conwy's 291 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 232 (80 per cent) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
