A MAN from Colwyn Bay has received a suspended sentence after he was found guilty of four offences, including making a hoax phone call to police.
Lee Deacon, 49, of Sea View Road, was accused of the following:
- Calling North Wales Police’s Control Room on March 11 conveying false information.
- Driving a Citroen vehicle on the A547 in Conwy on March 12 without third party insurance.
- Driving a Citroen vehicle on the A547 in Conwy on March 12 without a licence.
- Failing to provide a sample of blood in Conwy on March 12.
He was found guilty of all four offences at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on October 3.
Deacon was sentenced to 12 weeks’ imprisonment, suspended for one year.
The court had heard how he had used “offensive language to officers”.
He is also to pay a victim surcharge of £154, and costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85.
This totalled £239, to be paid as a full lump sum within 28 days.
An application was made for deductions from Deacon’s benefits.
