A MAN from Rhos-on-Sea is to undertake unpaid work after he was found guilty of three counts of assault and threatening behaviour.

Philip Roberts, 40, of Colwyn Crescent, was accused of the following in Llandudno on August 11:

  • Using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
  • Assaulting Jack Brown by beating him.
  • Assaulting PC Hatton by beating her.
  • Assaulting PC Waldron by beating him.

He was found guilty of all of the above at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on October 17.

Roberts was ordered to complete 200 hours’ unpaid work by October 16, 2023.

The court also sentenced him to a maximum of 25 days’ rehabilitation activity, and a three-month alcohol treatment programme.

He is to pay £250 in compensation, costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85, and a £114 victim surcharge.

This amounted to a total of £449, which is to be paid in monthly instalments of £100 from October 31.
