PROPERTY developer Hall & Co has submitted plans for the transformation of a site in Dwygyfylchi, Conwy, into a new model for sustainable living.

The new development, in one of North Wales’ most desirable locations, will offer a mix of two, three and four bed homes and shared equity.

24 properties will be accompanied by 46 parking spaces in a scheme created with sustainability at its heart.

Designed by Ollier Smurthwaite Architects, each of the new homes will take inspiration from the history of the local area, developed around a natural organic layout that mirrors the site’s topography.

Local materials, including stone, render and slate, will ensure that the development, a mixture of converted buildings, rendered cottages, stone worker cottages and Victorian villas, will blend seamlessly into their surroundings.

Residents will enjoy views of the mountains to the south of the site and the Irish Sea to the north, across an expanse of open fields.

Undeveloped green spaces surrounding the site has safeguarded its rural character.

The development will support residents in living a more sustainable lifestyle, connected to nature; an edible kitchen garden and orchard will provide seasonal fruit and vegetables while helping to foster a sense of community.

Like all Hall & Co developments, sustainability is a priority; building envelopes will be super-insulated to minimise heating and cooling requirements, alongside rain water harvesting and at least one renewable energy source.

Andrew Hall, Founder and Director at Hall & Co, said: “Y Bluen Goch is a development we’re all very excited about - our plans for the site would create beautiful new homes in one of North Wales’ most sought-after locations.

“Sustainability is a key element of the project along with a sense of community; the social aspect of the scheme is equally important to the building fabric, helping to create a community united by shared values and care for the environment.”

Hall & Co is a family-run property developer.
