PENDERYN Distillery in Llandudno has won two major awards – the prestigious Visit Wales Gold Award and also the Customer Excellence Award at the West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce Awards.

The team won the coveted Gold Award as one of Visit Wales’ Quality Assured Visitor Attractions, with a high score of 96 per cent for their distillery in Llandudno.

This not only means the distillery can display the Cymru/Wales quality mark of Wales’ official, nationwide quality assessment scheme, it also recognises the high standards and service levels offered by the team in North Wales.

All the national assessing bodies (Visit England, Visit Scotland, Visit Wales, Northern Ireland Tourist Board and the AA) assess to the same criteria and award one to five stars, so we are delighted to have received this prestigious Gold Award.

One comment from the Visit Wales Inspector was: “The tour was conducted in an outstanding manner.

“It was well paced and extensive in the information shared on the processes with close up views and information on the sustainability aspects used in the process too.”

Laura Davies, General Manager of Distilleries, said: “This is a wonderful result. The inspectors came and were thrilled with the tour, the staff and the general atmosphere and hygiene of the building. We will bear this award with pride!”
