SANTA is fully taking the reins back when it comes to Christmas in Conwy.

Last year, families may have only heard the sound of distant sleigh bells as Santa made a few surprise appearances in Conwy, Deganwy and Llandudno Junction but couldn't make a safe landing; this was due to the new strain of Covid that was tearing through communities.

This year, Father Christmas is 100 per cent back and will be visiting the walled town on his sleigh with the addition of a route, stops and timings.

A spokesperson for Conwy Town Council, who host the Christmas Eve event, said: "Conwy Christmas Eve is back on for 2022 and Conwy Town Council are very happy to be able to announce that we are holding our Christmas Eve event again this year."

There will be music in the town from 5.45pm and carols in the square from 6pm.

Santa and his elf will be popping in to see everyone and will be waving from the castle walls at 6.45pm.

A firework display will be held at 7pm.

To find up to date information on the route and timings, visit: www.conwytowncouncil.gov.uk or www.facebook.com/ConwyTownCouncil or search @ConwyTownCouncil on Facebook.

A spokesperson for Conwy Town Council added: "As we all know, it is more important than ever to support our local businesses, so there will be music played in the town centres on selected dates during December, to accompany your Christmas shopping and make your experience more festive.
