SEVERAL schools across Conwy county have been forced to shut down today following snow.

Ysgol Eirias tweeted it is closed to all students today (January 17).

They added: "We have concerns around the safety of the site and are also unable to cover staff who aren't able to attend. Work will be made available on MS Teams. Information regarding this evenings Sixth Form Evening will be released shortly."

Ysgol Bryn Elian also tweeted they were closed.

"Due to health and safety reasons, the school will be closed today."

Ysgol y Creuddyn has confirmed it is open to pupils.

According to the Conwy County Borough Council website, the following schools and Social Inclusion Services are also closed: Canolfan Addysg Penmaenrhos Education Centre; Canolfan Addysg Penrhos Avenue Education Centre; Canolfan Addysg y Ddraig Goch Education Centre; Ysgol Bro Aled; Ysgol Pen y Bryn; Ysgol Talhaiarn; Ysgol Cystennin and Ysgol Pen y Bryn. This list was updated on January 17 at 8.16am. 

The local authority said they are gritting all priority routes today at 1.30pm, 7pm and 3am.

Coleg Llandrillo campus in Rhos-on-Sea is closed to all staff and students today.
