Charlotte Dykes, of the Welsh Mountain Zoo, said: “The snow settled quite heavily here and turned our site into a picturesque winter wonderland. Many of our animals enjoyed the snowy weather, especially our Snow Leopard, Sumbe.

"Snow Leopards are typically be found at higher altitudes where there are colder conditions.

"Whilst some animals enjoyed the cooler temperatures, those more accustomed to warmer climes, enjoyed extra bedding to keep them warm.”

The zoo is back open to visitors today (Wednesday, January 18).

The Yellow Weather warning for Snow and Ice has not been issued for Conwy but is in force for Denbighshire. The warning is in place until 12pm today.
