THE Gwledd Conwy Feast will no longer take place, with the organisers saying they did “everything in our power” to keep it going.

The Feast, which had been running for 16 years, invited a range of exhibitors, musicians, artists, craftspeople, and independent food and drink businesses to showcase their products.

The festival claimed to be one of the biggest in Wales and was organised by a not for profit community organisation, but has faced fears over its future in recent years due to problems with funding.

The event relied on public funding, but the gradual decrease in donations lead to a reliance on self-funding.

Despite efforts to host the event again this year, the organisers have decided to call it a day.

In a post on social media, a Gwledd Conwy Feast spokesperson said: “It's with heavy hearts that we announce the end of Gwledd Conwy Feast.

“Although we have done everything in our power to push forward and try to get another feast together, and after many discussions - we have decided that it's time to say goodbye to our beloved event after 16 amazing years.

“We would like to extend the warmest and most sincere thanks to everybody who has been a part of Gwledd Conwy Feast for so many years.

“Volunteers, exhibitors, artists, musicians, chefs, local markets, farmers, makers, breweries, schools, community initiatives, townspeople, agencies and our team of passionate individuals have made the last 16 feasts incredibly special.

“Most of all, we'd like to say thank you to each and every person that attended and enjoyed the event - it's because of you that we were able to continue to run Gwledd Conwy Feast for so many years.”
