IT IS HOPED dogs will go barking mad for a new menu being served up by a pub and restaurant on Conwy Marina.
The Mulberry has launched its new Dog Menu. Dishes range from 'Treat Pots' for £2 to 'Dog Bowls' for £4.
Dogs will be able to tuck into smaller dishes such as Bark Burgers [beef patties with cheese] and Bark Bangers [mini chicken sausage treats].
For hungrier dogs, owners can opt for a Roast Dinner [Chicken drumstick, sausage, peas and carrots on a bed of chicken and potato dog food] or Fish and Chips [dried sprats, sweet potato fries and peas on a bed of salmon and trout dog food].
Jason Taylor, general manager at The Mulberry Bar, said: "Sarah Rogers Retail Marketing Manager and Rebecca Downey Digital Marketing Manager at Frederic Robinsons Brewery met David Wright from Sir Woofchester’s at the Independent Hotel Show in London and heard all about the idea. Knowing how many of our guests have dogs who visit our pubs we’d been looking for a solution to feeding our furry friends for a while. These products felt like the perfect fit for our business.
"We chose to partner with Sir Woofchester, a specialist in the canine hospitality field who originally began their dog treats in Wirral and North Wales.
"With all the amazing food and drink that our regular customers can enjoy, it just didn’t seem fair to leave the doggies out."
Owners can also treat their furry friends to a Dog Drink - 'Bark Brew Dog Beer' or 'Paw Star Dog Martini'. Both are alcohol free.
NEWSLETTER
Jason said: "We have tried to replicate the kind of things that the pub offers... so there is a doggy fish and chips, roast dinner, doggy sausages and beverages.
"We've had a great response [on Facebook], and we are happy that our customers have engaged so positively. We knew it was a good idea to introduce a doggy menu – but I don’t think we’d quite anticipated quite how much people would love it.
"It’s been a great bit of unexpected exposure for The Mulberry, and we really hope to see this excitement welcome new faces into our pub over the coming months."
Jason hopes the Dog Menu will become a permanent fixture and the team are already thinking of ways to keep it current.
RELATED STORIES
"The doggy menu developers are already starting to think about 'spooky bites' to introduce around Halloween, and obviously doggy Christmas dinners," Jason added.
"We’ve introduced a similar menu into some of our other pub site and found similar great feedback. Our pubs that have hotel accommodation offer a welcome pack for vacationing canines, with just a small surcharge for the extra guest to ensure they’re pampered too. However, whilst we’re dog friendly and love to see people out with their pooches, we do know that not all our visitors have or enjoy interacting with dogs and ensure there is space for everyone at our venue."
