PATRIOTIC animals at the Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwyn Bay have been marking St David's Day.

As well as celebrating the patron saint of Wales, the zoo’s grounds have come to life with seas of Daffodils which can be seen spread across the site's 37 acres of woodland and gardens.

Charlotte Dykes of the Welsh Mountain Zoo said: "As the National Zoo of Wales, it's important that we celebrate Wales and recognise St David’s Day here at the zoo.

"It’s lovely to see the first signs of Spring emerging, and the zoo is really coming to life as we say goodbye to a particularly cool winter and head into the warmer months."

The attraction is open from 9.30am until 5pm on St David’s Day.
