A MAN has uncovered old picture postcards of Towyn from the 1960s and 1970s.
Derek Wood, from the Midlands, has visited the Rhyl and Towyn area on holidays for more than 60 years, and believes the postcards were acquired from the old Tinkers Newsagents.
The pictures show the seaside resort as it once was, with the sea wall and promenade featuring prominently.

One postcard shows Knightley’s Fun Park not long after it was constructed in the 1960s, as well as the Happy Days camp by the sea wall and the adjacent railway line.
Two photographs show the Black Cat Amusement Arcade through the years, and another postcard is of the Fourways crossroads.
In this picture, the Forte’s Kiosk can be seen on the left, while a Mark 3 Ford Cortina in the background is a staple of the 1970s.
Mr Wood told the Journal: “I have been to Rhyl and Towyn for 60 years or more - I am 72 now.
“I have many happy memories of that area.”
