A DESPERATE mum is making a last ditch appeal to find her son's treasured toys.

Sally Evans's son Ethan, aged five, left a big green long-neck dinosaur and a brightly coloured fabric snake in Rhos on Sea paddling pool park, Abbey Road, on Sunday, February 26.

The dinosaur is particularly important; it accompanied Ethan when his dad Ian married Sally in July 2021.

Since losing them, Ethan has been distraught.

Sally, who lives in Stourbridge, West Midlands, and visits Rhos-on-Sea regularly, said: "Ethan has been mad about dinosaurs since his nanny sent him a bag of them during lockdown. He was just over two then. He knows dozens of dino names and fun facts. He particularly loves this Brachiosaurus toy because long necked dinosaurs are his favourite and his nanny bought this one for him two Christmas' ago. This brachi roars when you press a button under his belly and he accompanied Ethan when his Dad and I got married in July 2021.

"He's mostly dark green with a yellow under belly, the colouring around his neck is a bit worn as he's been carried about and played with a lot over the last three years. The snake was a recent purchase from a trip to South Stack, Anglesey, over half term. He loved the bright red and rainbow colours of this particular snake (it's one of those little sand bag fabric toys) and quickly named him Mr Rainbow Hiss.

"Ethan has been very upset about losing these toys. He wanted to show the snake to his Dad when we got home, so was very upset when he couldn't.

"We had taken the toys to the park to show some friends we were meeting there.

"I feel awful seeing him so upset and really cross with myself for not checking we had picked them up from the bench area we were initially sat at when arriving - a habit I normally have as I really hate losing things."

Sally had met her best friend at the park along with her friend's husband, their two daughters and her parents.

Sally added: "We arrived about 2pm and plonked our bags and the toys on the bench near the paddling pool. My best friend is very passionate about history, she works as a curator, and my mum and I took her to see the holy well and Chapel of St Trillo. We left the kids to play in the park with my best mate's husband and my dad.

"On our return, the children were all playing on the zip wire so we joined them. All the belongings appeared to have been moved to the zip wire floor area.

"We stayed here until we left which was about 3pm.

"I am unsure if the toys were left on the floor by the zip wire or on the bench near the paddling pool - my guess is the bench otherwise I'm sure we would have seen them.

"None of us went back to the bench."
