A NEGLECTED dog who was seized by police and put into care is looking for a new home.

Zeus, a lurcher, was rescued by the RSPCA last summer when he was six months old.

He was found underweight and in an unsuitable environment at at a property in the North of England. It was also believed he was left on his own for long periods of time.

The inspector who rescued Zeus described the smell of the urine in the living room where he was found as “overpowering” whilst the veterinary surgeon, who examined Zeus, said he was 15 per cent underweight and his ribs, vertebrae and pelvic bones were easily visible.

Vicky Williams, manager at the RSPCA Bryn Y Maen Animal Centre in Upper Colwyn Bay, where Zeus is currently being cared for, said: “Zeus is a lively boy who is a bundle of energy so any potential adopters for Zeus must be able to give him the exercise he needs.

“He's a playful boy who loves to be on the go. Although Zeus does love to zoom he also loves human company and really enjoys chill time with his human friends here at the centre.

"Zeus has interacted with a couple of other dogs here at our centre so we do feel he could live with another dog who would appreciate his playfulness. However Zeus would not be able to live in a home with any cats or small furries.”

Zeus is now aged one.
