A WOMAN in Rhyl has taken her first step into the business world by opening a dog grooming salon in the town.

“Barkin’ Mad Dog Grooming” began trading at 12 Kinmel Street on February 13, and is under the ownership of Chloe Evans.

Chloe, originally from Rhuddlan, has roughly two years of dog grooming experience after studying animal care and management for four years.

In her first few weeks of business, Chloe said she has been delighted by the response, and hopes to continue growing the salon.

She said: “I wanted to set it up because I love the passion from my job, and I love meeting new people and their pooches.

“Building a relationship with the customers is something I looked forward to when opening my new business. I love the bond that I have connecting with new dogs.

“I’ve spent all my life in North Wales and the people are always very supportive.

“I know it’s a hard time for a lot of people, and I’d like to give dog owners something to smile about, as I take so much pride in my work.”

Currently, Chloe is offering wash and dry packages at her salon, as well as puppy and mud spa packages.

She also offers seasonal and occasional photoshoots for dogs at an additional cost, which she said has been particularly well-received so far.

Chloe added: “I’m currently running the business on my own, which is scary but very exciting, as I have big plans for the future.

“Business has been really good so far; people have been very supportive. We’d put the word out before we even opened and had people booking in early.

“We already have fantastic regulars with beautiful dogs, and I have had so much fun pampering them all so far.”
