PEOPLE wanting to start a career in catering can now do so in Llanrwst by joining a housing association’s career pathway.

This scheme will enable individuals to join ClwydAlyn in a job with the guarantee of more training and/or experience that will enable them to progress within the pathway.

There are a number of catering teams within ClwydAlyn in its care and extra care facilities, with the aim of establishing a new structure that will support staff’s career progression.

Executive director of people, communications and marketing at ClwydAlyn, Elaine Gilbert, said: “This exciting change will provide people with development opportunities that will allow them to progress their careers here at ClwydAlyn, starting as a trainee cook with the prospect of working towards being a cook, and then cook in charge.

“With over 750 staff, ClwydAlyn’s aim is to create long term employment opportunities within North Wales, and we’re committed to create roles that will enable people to build and develop their skills across a range of different areas.

“This change is just the beginning of ClwydAlyn’s journey, as we continue to look at other opportunities that will provide the stepping stones necessary to enable people to work towards achieving their career goals and aspirations.”
