OPERATORS behind a cafe bar and gift shop in Rhos on Sea moving into a site previously leased by Apprentice winner Alana Spencer have given their thoughts on a paddling pool being out of use.

Conwy County Borough Council said on Tuesday, April 25 that paddling pools in Craig y Don, Llanfairfechan, Penmaenmawr and Rhos on Sea will not be re-opening as normal in May.

The local authority recently carried out a full safety audit of all sites. Those audits found that some areas are a high slip risk.

Whether the paddling pools are "filled or not", Coast Cafe and Gift shop said they intend to open at the site, next to Craig-y-Don paddling pool, within the coming weeks.

The business posted on Facebook: "As our paint remains wet, and our pools remain dry, we still anticipate to open our Llandudno cafe within the coming weeks - irregardless of the paddling pools being filled, or not!"

The Pioneer reported earlier in April that Alana, who runs Ridiculously Rich, had closed her cafe at Craig y Don paddling pool after less than two years of being in the town

Darren Randle of Coast cafe bar and gift shop has taken on the tenancy.
