LLANDUDNO and Conwy have been voted some of the UK’s best seaside towns, but Colwyn Bay has placed way down the list.

In a study by consumer group Which?, more than 3,000 visitors rated the beach, attractions, scenery, value for money and more, for more than 100 UK seaside towns and villages.

Llandudno and Conwy placed close to the top of the list, with Conwy just outside the top 10 with a customer score of 80 per cent and Llandudno just below on 79 per cent.

However, Colwyn Bay placed surprisingly low down the list, with a harsh 55 per cent customer score.

The scores are based on a number of factors, including hotel prices, beaches, seafront/pier, food and drink, accommodation, tourist attractions, scenery, shopping, peace and quiet, and value for money.

Conwy rated highly for its scenery and tourist attractions, but was given a lower score for its seafront/pier appeal – Conwy does not have a pier.

Llandudno scored consistently highly across the board, with a five-star rating for its shopping.

Colwyn Bay was ranked the joint-seventh worst of the 100 seaside towns, and its shopping was rated poorly, with its tourist attractions, seafront and food and drink options also scoring underwhelmingly.
