LAND trains will soon be chugging their way through Llandudno!

David Banks and his wife Claire, who moved into the town in June 2022 after snapping up the Promenâd B&B, are bringing back the trains this May.

The West Shore Express service will make its first trip from the Pier Train Stop to the West Shore Train Stop on May 26 at 10.30am. The train will run every hour until 5.30pm.

David said: “Both Claire and I are so excited to bring the trains back to the town and our dream will be realised on the May 26. It’s been a long and somewhat challenging process getting the trains ready for service however, without the help of our local councillors, support from Conwy council and well wishes of the local community, it would have been a lot harder.

"We hope that visitors to the Llandudno and the local community get as much pleasure from our trains as our family did over the years."

It is understood it has been more than three years since the trains were in the town. They stopped running at the end of the summer season in 2019.

RELATED STORIES

David said to the Pioneer in March: "My wife Claire and I moved to the town in June last year when we purchased the Promenad B&B on Mostyn Crescent. We’d been coming to Llandudno for many enjoyable years as visitors and wanted a change of lifestyle.

"As a family we enjoyed riding the trains and wanted to bring them back for all to enjoy."

The couple are working towards getting the Great Orme Express service up and running. Further details will be released in due course.

Trips can be booked online in advance.
